Search Process

Employees are the most valuable asset to a company and provide the foundation for profitable growth.  Our clients have recognized the importance of employing top-talent but are aware of the challenges inherent in finding those individuals.  The Consultants at General Placement Service have developed a process that enables us to source, qualify and place these top-tier candidates with our clients.

Below is the process that we employ:

Research the company and position:

  • Learn the culture and style of the company
  • Understand their past, present and future practices
  • Interview hiring managers to clarify their preferences and expectations
  • Have an in-depth discussion of the position, why it is open and the qualifications and skills necessary to be successful

Develop a plan and begin sourcing:

  • Outline the assignment and discuss with all GPS Consultants and Researchers – our team approach
  • Identify and target candidates from industry competitors
  • Post job on GPS website and several national and industry-specific job boards
  • Search for candidates on our internal database – which contains information on over 30,000 insurance professionals
  • Utilize all social networking sources (LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc) to target and contact passive candidates
  • Contact and employ the resources of other Insurance Recruiting Agencies on a national basis – utilizing the National Insurance Recruiting Association (NIRA)

Qualifying:

  • Conduct interviews and screens on candidates to determine their skill-sets and career preferences
  • Compile a list of the most qualified candidates
  • Present position details and company information for candidate to determine interest
  • Review documentation on interested candidates to include resume, reference letters, performance reviews, etc
  • Select most fitting candidates for presentation to client

Presentation:

  • Present pertinent information to client on each qualified candidate
  • Discuss qualifications and fitment to the company culture and job requirements
  • Obtain any additional information requested by client (reference checks, background verification, etc)

Interview:

  • Coordinate availability and arrange interview (telephone, office, virtual, etc)
  • Obtain post-interview feedback from both candidate and client
  • Schedule follow-up interviews as necessary

Offer of Employment:

  • Discuss candidates expectations with client to prepare offer
  • Present verbal offer on behalf of client
  • Close candidate on the opportunity and obtain offer acceptance

Post Acceptance:

  • Mentor candidate through the resignation process to ensure a smooth transition
  • Follow up with both client and candidate to ensure expectations have been met

The above process is standard but can be adapted to fit the expectations and needs of our clients.  Please Contact a General Placement Service Consultant to further discuss your preferences.
